Hi all. My 02 QX4's A/C is acting up. When I turn the car on, the A/C immediately comes on at the highest level. I can lower the fan level but even though the gauge says it's lowered, it's still on full blast. Then if I turn it off and the windshield defroster automatically turns on even if all the air controls are off. I suspect I may have a short somewhere, especially since I know in this car the stereo and the air are together. Any ideas?

Also, does anyone know how much a QX4 tune up runs?

Thanks,

Nes

had this same exact problem, its the fan amplifier control, i had to replace mine like 2 years ago cause it went bad,

heres the link to the part

http://www.courtesyparts.com/2..._4758&

2002 pathfinder should be the same part as for 2002 qx4 as they are practically same car.

back then i took mine to the dealer and paid like 325$ or so approx. But this is one of those small things that are known to go bad on these cars, not much else really other than 02 sensors, and some other minor things.

and Welcome to NICO pathy/qx4 forum

Thanks Miami. Did you replace it yourself or had it done at a shop? If yourself, how difficult was it?

i didn't do it myself, but here is the link to the factory service manuals

http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/

look for your qx4 or a pathfinder one, and check where its located at, it should say, and it should'nt be that hard. i would find it myself in there for you but i have to go somewhere now. and like i said , back then i took it to a dealer and got it done for 325$ but the part costs 214$ on courtesyparts, so id defiantly do it myself now, just like i do everything else.
