I suspect that I may have left some moisture in my a/c system when I recharged it last year having used a cheap diaphram type vacuum pump. I was wondering about adding a moisture remover product. It come in a small screw on canister and the directions say it contains methanol.

I would vote no, if the big boys don't use it us little boys shouldn't either.

You would have to open up (evacuate/recharge) the system to install it. If you're going to do that, you may as well replace the drier ($60), which removes particles and moisture, and which does not require any modifications to the system. It's just in front of the battery.

Actually the product injects directly into the system and doesn't require it to be opened. The directions state that it converts the water in the system into a non-hydroscopic substance. I bought it at Pep Boys a couple years back.
