Did you say their fault??? What a phucked up insensitive analysis of someone dying!!! As Dangeris just stated, you think you know how to react in a life or death situation, until it gets there... MANY folks just panic, they aren't thinking clearly, or logically, or calmly for that matter.. someone with advanced training may react differently than someone without it... being a CHP should have given him a bit more background since I'm guessing they are trained how to drive in dangerous situations, but even still, when it happens, people clam up sometimes!
Just because you own a gun doesn't mean you have the training to know what to do and what not to do when a situation presents itself such as a burglary or break in... I can tell you that when I had to use my gun due to a burglary in 2008, my mind was rushing 300mph, and my adrenaline was through the roof, and only becuase I've had weapons training at my gun range could I overcome all of that and make rational decisions on when to fire, where to fire, kill, not kill, allow them to retreat, etc.
If you've never been in a situation where you have to think fast like that, you are in no position to judge someone else who made the wrong decision in their life or death moment... and if you have, surely you remember how fast your mind was racing...
Anyway, folks are saying this is old news... NO, the recall and the excuse of "faulty floormats" is old news, but the second recall didn't happen until 2 weeks ago, and the new news about extended congressional hearings and straight up lies on the part of Toyota covering up what REALLY was going on are new reports that all consumers should be aware of!
