A/C not working

The A/C in my 91 240sx isn't blowing cold air, but it does blow hot air. I had a mechanic look at it, he said it wasn't the compressor, because it was blowing something and the a/c refrigerant is full so thats not the problem also. SOOOOOOOOOO anyone out there had this problem and know how to fix it w/o paying someone!!!!

could it be a valve thats not opening?

In a week i will have a sr20det in my car and wondering if that will fix the problem.

turn on the a/c and look at the compressor. do you see it cycling? this means the clutch on the front of it will engage and disengage. if it is cycling, how much time goes by between cycles. also wait for it to run for a while and touch all the a/c lines. you need to feel the temperature of the lines by the compressor and by the evaporator. the lines to the evaporator are the two right next to each other going through the firewall.
