Strange problem with my A/C. I have to keep turning it on and off in order to get it to work properly. Sometimes it will work after only a few on/off's but other times it takes much longer and many more on/off's. When it does start it blows out very cold air as I just had the suction hose replaced and the system refilled. Not sure what could be the problem.

2000 Nissan Maxima, GLE, 157,000 miles and loving it.

Thanks,

Scott

Is the blower not coming on or is it the compressor?

I'm going to guess it's the compressor since it does blow hot air. Yesterday, it took me 2 on/off's to get the system working in the morning and then the rest of the day it was working great.

When it goes inop on you, disconnect the power supply to the compressor and with a test light or voltmeter see if you are getting power to the compressor.

I am having a similar issue with a 2009 Rogue. I recharged my Audi and wanted to throw the leftover R134 into our rogue rather than dispose of it. So, I put about 1/2 can into the system and it started to not work, where before it was fine! It seems to kick itself on and off every few min, sometimes seconds. It will blow freezeing cold air, then hot outside air. I just bought another can yesterday and filled it to capacity just now and am letting it just run right now and see if it will work itself out.

Any suggestions?
