I am using a ca18et ac compressor/ clutch on my ca18det, mainly so I didn't have open the system when I did my swap. The compressor is hooked up to the ca18et wiring harness, which I didn't need to remove with the swap. Basically all I did was unbolt the compressor from the ca18et, layed it to the side in the engine bay fully charged, pulled ca18et, installed ca18det, then bolted it back up.Problem I have is when I turn on the switch inside, the clutch engages/ disengages like every 1 sec......almost like there is a short somewhere. It worked fine on my ca18et before the swap.Do I need to wire in the compressor somehow to the ca18det harness? Does the ecu control the ac or something....or is my problem somewhere else? Thanks for any help

Thanks for that link......I think I figured it out.......the S12 pulley is a v belt pulley......and I tried to use a 3 rib serpentine belt on it to match the tensioner, and crank pulley. Thought it would work. When I first cranked up the car everything was fine.....as I turned on the ac and let it idle, the clutch engaged and worked for about 15 secs, then I heard a thunk sound, and thats when the clutch started engaging, and disengaging every 1 sec or so. Upon closer inspection today, the belt had turned itself part way inside out.....with a 2-3 inch gash in the center of it. I just ended up cutting the belt off. For kicks after I cut the belt off, I cranked it back up, and turned on the ac......the clutch engaged, and stayed engaged......so I think my problem was the belt was about to self destruct.I have a z31 serpentine pulley that fits the ca18et compressor, but it's offset from the tensioner, and crank pulley. Maybe the skinny 3 rib belt will allow it to work......I know the fatter ac belt won't. Anyway, back to square 1
