AC systems are all basically the same... They consist of these major parts, the compressor, evaporator, condensor, expansion valve, and service ports...
Obviously the compressor is the thing that takes the Freon (in your case R134a) and compresses it.. Obviously this increases pressure.. No reason to go into detail there, but this is the only moving part in the AC system besides the fans...if the compressor clutch kicks in, and your fully charged up (with no leaks) then your compressor is probably at fault. The only way the other components like the condensor, evaporator, and expansion valve fail is if they leak, or with the expansion valve if they start sticking or just stop working...
The best way to figure out what is going wrong is take it to an AC shop who has a manifold gauge set. That monitors the high and low sides of the AC system.. if the high side is too high and the low side is too low, then your expansion valve is probably at fault... Otherwise, if both your high and low sides are too low, or your low side is too high but the high side is too low, then your compressor is probably bad......
Sorry if that was confusing but if you dont know much about AC systems, take it to any reputible place that deals with AC, they can test it for you and tell you whats wrong, generally they are not car specific as AC systems in cars are 99% the same across the board.
