a/c hard to turn over

HI i have a 04 nissan altima 2.5 auto. car run great , but when i turn on ac the belts start shakin, really bad
but goes away when i turn the ac off. I tried to turn the cultch by hand :gotme :gotme on the ac and it was hard to turn. is there a fix
besides replacing the ac compressor. thanks todd.

So you took the belt off and turned the AC compressor by hand and it was very difficult?

Never heard of "belts shakin" before.

with the car off and the belt on i can turn the clutch by hand but not easy.and the belt only shakes when i put a load on it .

Still never heard of shaking belts before.

How much deflection does the belt have? By deflection I mean how much movement does it have when you push on it. Something around 1/4 inch is all it should have. Sounds like a lose belt. With a belt at the proper tension you shouldn't be able to turn any of the pulleys.
