A/C fan?

i have a 89 s13 SOHC engine

the little pusher electrical fan, never seems to go on, WTF?i havent seen it go on. i let the car sit and nothing , i turn the a/c on and nothing.

i checked to see if it spins freele and it does.

the next step is to hook it up to a straight 12v to see if it works.

If it DOES work, then WTF? why doesnt it go on? what do i check? is there a fuse? or maybe is that little temp sender unit on the lower Rad hose thats was in the SOHC models thats ****ed.

Does the AC work to begin with, because if not, the fan won't come on. It "knows" the AC doesn't work, so it will not work if the AC doesn't.
