Okay my AC compressor works after a full recharge because my mechanic manually turned on the AC.

NOW he says that my climate control inside the car is not kicking in the AC.my fan is just blowing outside air and not cold air.

Do I need to buy a new climate control? It costs 150 from the junk yard. I don't wanna spend that kind of money.

Please help!

not sure what you mean by manually turning on the AC. pressing "auto" and turning the thermostat all the way down doesn't turn it on?

So what I mean is that the AC it self would work with a different climate control per say because if I were to take of the climate control and manually turn on the AC , it works.

My mechanic says that my climate control head unit needs replacement. Has anyone else had this problem?

2002 vehicle! Open your service manual to Air Conditioning section, look at schematic for in line series device, like ambient temperature control to turn on the compressor, find the leads ans jump them out and see if the compressor turns on.

The clutch mechanism must come on then the compressor turns and then and only then do you get a gas to liquid transformation and with evaporation you get cooling. Do not blame the controls in direct reach of you, it may be the controls that protect the compressor while the ambient id cold around 32F and colder.

Test these protection sensors before condemning the at hand controls.
