A lot of the pictures I see on here are coupes that are debadged.

What is the most effective way to debadge a car? I haven't debadged anything i've driven since I was 18-19 y/o and I can't even remember what was used since I had a friend help me.

I've heard the adhesive remover, fishing line, and a hair dryer works the best. However, does anyone have any other suggestions to try?

Thanks in advance :chuckle:

take some goof off or any xtreme adhesive remover and just pray it on the badges. i used a painting plastic paddle to remove the badges. dont really need the hair dryer since your car is brand new so the stickyness wont be that bad.

I used fishing line and got as close to the letters as possible. I did not use a hair dryer or adhesive remover as it was 50 degrees. After the letters came off there was just the tape left and it was easy to peel off with my fingers. If there is adhesive left on the paint you can use WD40 or goof off but be careful. I found that after a coupe of applications of wax it looked clean.

If everything goes as planned, I should have Tinting and the spoilers installed on my car. Be prepared for pictures :D

make sure you wax the spots where the letters used to be when you're done. also, i'm hesitant to suggest using adhesive remover on paint, i've heard it messes up your clear coat.

I may use WD40 to do it, but I'll talk to my detailing guy (www.beyondreflections.com). He usually details my car for me when I don't have time and he charges a reasonable rate. Although, I did go out and buy some ice tonight so I'll have wax on hand to clear it up a bit. Would have rather of gotten NxtTech wax, but they were sold out at Walmart :(

I used floss, no heat gun (my car was also new and weather wasn't too bad), and a little adhesive remover afterward.

Debadged the car last night. I used 10lbs fishing line, hair dryer, and had to get some WD-40. I did have to buy some wax too and I hit it with a coat this morning. Looks nice :). Here is a picture before waxing. I did it this morning at like midnight because I was bored. Coat of wax was a little bit ago.
