Hi guys

I purchased a 2012 Rogue SV in March. So far so good!

I have a question regarding the A/C though... Once the air coming out of the vents is nice and cold I notice the a/c compressor cycling off. The a/c compressor doesn't seem to kick back on until the air is barely cool (~50-55 degrees). The issue I have is with the temperature range from cycle off to cycle on... about 10-15 degrees (haven't actually measured it though). I find it a little annoying as I usually have the vents pointed at me while driving.

Is this normal? Is there a way to reduce the temperature range as it cycles?

Any info is much appreciated! Thanks

nope, its programmed to do, what it does.

folks gotta understand you bought a 4cyl engine. so expect smaller(weaker) a/c pumps, smaller(weaker) alternators, a little more engine shake/rattle, small vibrations upon power dips at stops, etc.

my suggestion is if you feel there is a problem, use your warranty. go to the dealer have them check the r134a levels, and or things like expansion valves, etc. sometimes a fresh recharge or a slight increase in freon will solve small issues. or sometimes sticky valves, air bubbles, moisture, can impede optimal performance.

trust me, i went from a 4-cylinder 1999 altima to a 6-cylinder 2002 nissan maxima. i got used to, the amazing a/c, miniscule power dips, almost no vibrations, on the maxima's six cylinders - and only to be culture shocked BACK again into the four cylinder engine by the Rogue lol

Thanks stricken. I think I figured out the issue this morning... I turned the temp dial to cold and it blew much colder. I normally have it at 75 and figured the blend door would always be closed (cold), and just the fan speed adjusted to control the cabin temperature if outside temps were warm enough. This isn't the case though.. The auto a/c seems to adjusts the blend door as well as the fan speed. Now that I know this, I'm feeling better about the car! :)
