I did a search but came up empty.

My 2002 pathfinder's a/c system will intermittently cut in and out. Meaning that for example, if i have the a/c on and driving, all of a sudden the a/c goes off and the LED display goes out too(almost as if it lost power), then it sometimes automatically comes on by itself. Very annoying and i dont know where to begin looking.

Anyone have similar issues, ideas?

thanks

Purely a guess, but I'm assuming that there is an A/C relay somewhere, probably under the hood. If this relay is flaky, it may be the culprit.Having said that, most A/C systems have a pressure valve/sensor, that senses when the system pressure is either too high or too low. If it's too high, then the compressor will cycle down. If it's too low, then the system will shut down completely. If the coolant level is borderline, then the system can cut in and out, just like you describe. Happened to me with my old Chrysler minivan.I'd have your system pressure tested, for starters.Good luck.

Yes. I would get a gauge on it first and see if its low. However if its been pretty cold and the problem you describe which is the display goes dim I would bet its an electrical problem.
