Hey, I swear that I read all the stickies that I could, and I still couldn't find a fix for this problem. My A/C vents wont open and air only comes out of the defroster. When I push the little button a stripped gear noise comes from under the dash (which I'm planning to take out anyways to fix the cracks), and nothing happens. I live in the desert so it is HOT!! and if anyone says that I'm a pansy for keeping my A/C I suggest that you come out here with your windows rolled down and see how you like it. Any suggestions of what to do or where to look would be great. THX

Im not so great with AC components but the best thing to do is to rip the dash apart (not literally lol) and find out what the problem is. Sorry for the lack of help

Sounds like the little servo that's connected to the flap that changes the air path.. If it is, your going to have to pull the dash out in order to reach it because its on the top of the interior A/C assembly.Or maybe you can reach it through the radio opening?

Okay, sounds good. What does it look like and does it control all of the A/C vents? Cuz its not only the dash vents, but the floor ones too. Also, I have a coupe and am wondering if there is any way to put the hatchback taillights on that look ten times better. Sorry for the late notice.

It's just a simple flap that swings. The servo is on top of the large plastic box that doesn't have the A/C evaporator or heater core in it. If you have any trouble finding it just flick the ac switch and see where the noise in comping from. Also, it might not even be the servo, it could be stuck. Don't get your hopes up though. Is this in an s14 or s13?And no, hatch brake lights don't fit on the coupe.

Its an s13, I didn't have the money to buy an s14, but I'm going to try to scrape together the money for a silvia conversion.

I didn't know s13's had auto A/C but 90% of everything from the s13 is the same as the s14.My s13 only has the manual lever.

I live in Florida too.. Except I hate driving in the sun when I hit a stop light or have been parked for awhile with the s13. Tinted too. That's what originally made my wife's s14 the daily driver.
