I have a 2009 Versa with A/C.. The finish is peeling off the A/C controls. Note that the fascia around the controls is fine. This is not something I did by using a harsh cleaners or anything like that.

Has anyone had this same problem? It there a TSB out on it?

I had this problem in mine. The circle around the knobs started peeling, but the knobs and everything around it was fine. I took it back to dealer and they said it was due to cleaning chemicals i used. all i used on it was armor all wipes so i don't think that was it. luckily my versa is still under warranty so they replaced it no questions asked. i just had to take my aftermarket radio out for them.

I was just about to post a new thread about this.

Are you guys talking about this?

I never use cleaners on it, just regular damp towel. WTF!

I had it much worse than Wiiliam's pictures on my '09. I also never used harsh chemicals. I eventually traded the '09 in, so I'm hoping it doesn't come back on my '11 model.

My car is 18 months old and 12000 miles.

I went to the dealer today. The service writer said, hey, that is the second one I have seen like that. Yours is worse. Then he said he would have to order the part and get me fixed up. Under warranty.

No arguments, no nothing, just satisfaction.

My 1-year-old 2010 has the same problem, the rings around the AC controls are bubbling (getting ready to peel), I'm going to take it to the dealership this afternoon and see what they can do. I've never used cleaning products on the dash, so that can't be it. Glad to see someone else got it fixed under their warranty, though!

Our two 2007's didn't have the problem, but my 2008 did after about 18 months. Unfortunately, with the driving I do that was at well over 50k miles and long past the warranty expiration. But since I expect to take it over 200k miles I don't really think it will affect any future trade-in for me!

I forgot to post earlier, I got the parts replaced under warranty and everything's back to normal. The invoice I signed had a $232 figure on it, so if you're out of warranty you might expect to pay that much (I didn't catch how much labor vs. parts was).

Just got off the phone with the service department manager regarding this. It started showing up a few months ago, I bought my V brand new on March of 2010. He said he sees it all the time and is ordering the part ahead of the appointment I have on Friday to look at the keyless entry system issue I've been having.
