a/c control knob ?'s

I just recently(last week) got my 08 2.5S and did not realize this until 2 days ago. The chrome trim ring around the temp selector knob is missing. I have been searching here and online since I realized it with no luck. I am trying to figure out if that is a part I can buy or will the whole knob need to be replaced. The other thing I can not figure out is how to get the knopb off of the car. Usually you just pull on a/c knobs to get them off but after pulling and pulling to no avail I am begining to think something else is holding this knob on.

Any help would be appreciated.

I think it's one whole piece. I tried searching to see if there was a way to change the color of the a/c controls, but it doesn't look like you can simply just take off a faceplate or cover. I do know it comes out as one piece if you decide to replace the factory deck with an aftermarket head unit
