My M45 A/C Condenser needs to be replaced and the repair shop ask too much ($750) and I am looking for some tutorials to see if I could do it myself. Has anyone have experienced with replacing A/C Condenser in M45 (2003) and if so can you please share some hints, tutorials or anything to help a non-mechanic/broke college student out.

The plan (hopefully) is to:
Review the list of part the mechanic mention in the quote
Order a condenser and other parts online (http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/sku/I ... C3104.html)
Set a day to work on this
Set a schedule with a shop to add coolant for me

Let me know if it worth the money instead of trying to do this myself. I will have to wait to save enough money until next summer to get $750, but if that's what I need to do in order not to break anything.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
JP

Does your system have any coolant now? If theres even a bit you need to have it recovered first before taking it appart. Then its difficult to find a shop that will recharge it if they didnt perform the repair since it could leak again. They may charge you for inspection before recharging.

Read this first if youre serious about diy.

Thanks svard75. I will save some money to get a shop to do it for me so I can have some piece of mind.
