a/c compressor wont kick off s14sr s14 240sx

The clutch pulley is fine on the car. Here is my issue.

95 s14 originally auto
s14 sr20det
sr ac compressor

car ran for 4k miles with perfect operating and cold as ice a/c.

recently the a/c compressor will not turn off when I turn off the a/c button on my manual climate control unit and the a/c is not nearly as cold as it was now....

when i turn the car off and the turbo timer kicks in the compressor kicks off. could it be low on freeon???

any ideas would be appreciated.

Sounds like an electrical issue. Sounds like a short that is keeping the compressor on. Since its turning off with the turbo timer on, it might be one of the ignition circuits. You'll need to do some methodical testing to confirm this and locate the problem.

thanks for the info, could you elaborate more on the ignition circuits? are we talking about the ignition switch? if so that is brand new.
