Minor - Moderate low frequency buzzing, has been making this noise since I bought the car one year ago. Had poor cooling @ idle this summer ( pressures looked okay ), evacuated and recharged with new refrigerant to exact weight on service label. Noise exactly the same after E&R, but cooling properly, no dye/oil added. Just curious if anyone else that owns a Y33 notices any noises ( besides clutch engagement ) with the A/C on. Compressor replacement is expensive ( $605.39 ) and Nissan no longer stocks the dryer ( dehydrator ). Just being paranoid, because every time I look at the online parts catalog more parts have either increased in price or have been discontinued.

They do tend to get noisy after a while... I notice some from my Q, and especially the wife's G now that it's cooler outside. If it's cooling OK I think I'd just let it ride. Keep an eye out on eBay for a spare OEM compressor. I bought a new in the box one several years ago for less than $200 I think. Not sure what the shelf life is, but hopefully it's presence on the shelf in the garage will keep my current one working :D

open that box sitting on your shelf and hand turn the pulley occasionally to distribute the oil around inside the compressor to keep all seals lubricated and internals coated to prevent rust issues!

Good plan! ...and here I thought I was going to read a post about how your compressor hasn't made a noise in 250K miles :D

Nah, I replaced my original at around 180K, was still cooling but it got less cool while at idle.Got a brand new {not reman} from Joe and it currently has over 113K on it and going strong.

Alternator is still original and silent though!
