The A/C compressor for the S13 89-94 are all R12, however you can use R134a freon if you have a retrofit kit. Which you can buy at a local auto parts store. The last time I retrofitted a car, the whole kit cost about $25 before tax.

A retrofit kit aught to have everything you need. (IE: Screw on fittings, Ester oil, R134a Freon, etc.)

DON'T DO IT. that is not a proper way to retrofit an a/c system. you have to have an a/c service station. your going to fu@k up your a/c system or poor cooling.

actually, the 95-96 240sx uses the same parts for the a/c system as the 91-94, except for the compressor. i bolted a 95 compressor and bracket to my DE swapped 90, and it works fine.

minor differences in mounting for the condensor have no effect on if it works for R12 or R134a. you SHOULD however, change your accumulator/drier and flush the system. don't worry about the expansion valve, the 91-94 and 95-98 use the EXACT SAME PART #. no "special" R134a expansion valve needed.
