Hi Guys

I Have a G35 and havn't ever been here on the altima side. But I need your help now!

My father has a 2001 Altima and it has been having problems with the a/c clutch or switch. I was thinking it was maybe the relay but not sure.

The A/c will work most of the time in the mornings when the car is cold.... But in the afternoon when the car is hot it never works.

I have a friend that has an a/c business for homes and he said it was full of 134a! When it works it blows Ice cold and can burn your hands!

Can some one please help out at to what the problem might be.

Could it be a switch or something stupid that could be fixed with out spending a lot of money on it!

Thanks alot for you time

DJ

The clutch will cycle normally to prevent ice build up on the evaporator.

Let me ask some questions:

1) When it is hot out the compressor clutch doesn't cycle at all? Or does it cycle but no cold air comes out?

2) When you say "full of 134a", is it full as in it's at the proper amount?

3) Does the clutch cycle when you turn on the front defroster?

4) The A/C only works when outside temps are below what temp?

Part of fixing a problem is being able to recreate it in testing situations. I ask a lot of questions to help form a theory as to why something isn't working correctly. Post what you find and I'll try to help.
