I was driving yesterday and needed to turn on the A/C, but I wanted to use air from outside of the cabin, NOT recirculating air. The light was on on the first dial where it depicts a picture of what I normally deem to be recirculating air. I pressed the button on the center of this dial thinking that is how I would turn off recirculation, but nothing happened, the light stayed on.

It only goes out when I turn the first dial all the way to the left, in the off position. Is there no way to get air from outside of cabin instead of recirculation? Or is something broken/wrong? Or am I just missing something?

Thanks!

What was the setting of the HVAC system?

I think if you set it to MaxA/C, the recirculating air option is mandatory (as the A/C is mandatory for Defrost mode).

Change the setting to another position (feet only or face only) and see if you regain control of the recirculating air mode.

I do believe it was on max A/C....I am leaving for work in about 30 minutes, I will change that and see what happens. Thanks for the quick reply!

Yes if you set it to MAX/AC then the Recirculate function is mandatory.
