a/c button lights replacement

for 1999 touring, has anyone changed the lights on the "AUTO" a/c button? do i need to take the center dash off or can i just pick out the button? thanks.

Hi There:

To replace those bulbs, you have to remove the woodgrain shifter/ashtray trim, the center dash vents and the complete center HVAC/radio console.

Once you remove all that (check the FSM for all the hidden clips and screws) you will see the bulbs. They cost about $6 each from the dealer the last time I checked, but they may have gone up. I would buy 1-2 extra bulbs just in case so you'll have some spares.

thanks ted, i didn't know there's a lot of work just to replace a tiny bulb. have you done it before? any words of precautions?
