Whats up NICO !!! so the past couple days its been warm out so i turned on my a/c and its blowing out warm air . i thought it might just need a recharge , so i brought it to a local shop n they put it on there machine n ran a few test the system was holding charge n the compressor was working but still no cold air . The shop said there must b a clog in the system n wants to change my expansion valve which is a pain since they have to remove the dash to replace n they are charging me an arm n leg to repair it .so i brought it by another shop near my job n they ran pretty much the same test n said there must b a clog somewhere n that i should change my condensor n dryer n they were charging me almost the same amount to replace that .Now that has me stuck because i have 2 different places giving me 2 different solutions and im not trying to spend more money than i need im not rich ya know ..anybody have anything like that happen to them if so what was the out come ... btw this is on my 02 q45

Is the compressor being engaged, even for a second before the pressures shoot up?

I would go through all of the diagnostics in the factory service manual (FSM) available at www.nicoclub.com/FSM/

Good luck!

the compressor comes on when u turn on the a/c it'll stay on for a few min then shut off, then it comes back on after bout a min or two.the shop that said it was the expansion valve said he guarantee its the problem so im let him do it if its not the problem its on him. i was tempted to tackle this but i really dont feel like taking the whole dashboard out to do it even tho i do want to run a high low converter to hook up a system .the guy quoted me 3.5 hrs labor n charging me 90 for the part.

Sounds like a good plan if he'll guarantee it.
