a/c and heat back lighting???

I have a 2002 Maxima SE w/automatic a/c and heat. At night when insturment lighting is on, the temp adjustment, auto, and off back lighting does not work/come on as the others do. Is this a unit problem or fuse, I have searched multiple forums, finding nothing. Anyhelp would be great. Also does anyone know where to get a cheaper than dealer price seat slide motor kit? Thankx

As far as the Thermostat lights, mine in my I30 don't light up either. I don't think they ever have.
