a/c and a/c light issue

Have an '07 Versa S, there is an issue that recently developed where the amber a/c indicator light would always be on if the fan was on, regardless on panel vent position. Couldn't tell if the actual a/c was on as it has been so cold out recently. As of today it is doing the opposite, a/c light will not turn on, and air is def not cold.

Any ideas?
