A/C air conditioning compressor doesnt work and condensor fan doesnt work

one day it just stopped kicking on. went to the shop and enough freon is there. i can also "hot wire" the compressor relay under the hood with a paper clip and the compressor kicks on and works fine (cool air). all fuses are good. i switched some relays around to test and i assume its not from a busted relay.

could it be the thermo switch on top of the dryer? how do i test it?

the switch you are refering to is the pressure switch. the tests for the switch are pretty vague. are you sure you have the correct amoung of freon, .3 lbs low and the system won't work. i have seen the a/c amplifier go bad more commonly (the evaporator temp sensor essentially).

at the relay also check to see if the control head is sending the "on signal" to the relay.
