I've given some thought to going KA-T instead of going nuts on trying to find an interesting swap ( long story ). In looking at a variety of manifolds/kits I noticed that one company ( JGS ) made mention that their kit would not force you to delete your A/C. They said because it was a top mount manifold and the piping they use to redirect their exhaust to the downpipe you didn't have to lose A/C. Other places selling kits didn't mention either way if you had to or didn't have to delete A/C.

I think the Greddy kit is also a top mount T3 like the JGS kit, so they also don't require deletion of the A/C.

SO, my questions are:

How many of you have actually had to delete A/C ( is it a line you have to get rid of to clear the elbow/outlet? )

If so, whats your set-up? Is it just the t25 bottom mounts that have to sacrifice and all the topmounts make it out alive?

I tried searching "A/C" in this forum and found nothing. Wanna get some more information on boosting my KA

Common setups do not require you to remove A/C. I'm running a bottom mount t2 setup and have room for A/C, I just don't because it wasn't working haha. Razi I know for a fact has A/C with a bottom mount t2 setup, as well as many other members.

JGS doesn't require A/C delete, but I'm not sure about Full Race and AMS. Those manifolds are pretty ridiculous though, if you are that baller then you don't need A/C haha.

You cant be baller sweating around in the summer in a 500 hp turbocharged 240. Lol just IMO.

AC is the ish, i was against it on my Ka-T until i realized how good it actually is for your health on road trips, and how freaken awesome it is in general lmao. No real reason not to run it if your system is already working.

SWEET. Might get that t2 kit from phase2 and build out from there.

As far the full race setup is concerned, the only disclaimer I saw said something about s13's without pop-ups or something.

I saw a couple kits mention a power steering reservoir relocation. Did that ever get in your way?

Lol very true. Let's say...baller enough to afford another car that you can daily drive and has A/C. My A/C didn't work to begin with so I ripped that bish out.

Though I was at a drift event a few days ago and I went for a ride-along with someone to give him some pointers, I got in and there was cold air blowing. It was amazing, I've honestly never been in a 240 with air conditioning before haha.

Edit: About the power steering...you can just relocate it if it's in your way. Bottom mount setups basically make you route the turbo intake right next to the power steering reservoir, but there is enough wiggle room in there to make it work.

Edit #2: You're in Va Beach? I'm in Hampton haha. I know a few people from Va Beach, most of them I was out drifting with the other day.

Yep. Bottom mount setup and kept A/C with no problems.

im using a t2 manifold and im running a/c can't beat having a/c on a hot day and boosting =) but unfortunately my injectors are shot so my car is sitting on the nice days. Im pretty sure you can use pretty much any manifold and still be able to use A/C.

Threadjack and wayyyyyyy random, but 480 what did you do with your old manifold? I know you're running an AMS now but what did you do with the log one? I might be interested in it if you still have it lol.

Bottom mount T25/T28 with internal wastegate retains all functionality without sacrificing anything.

Top mount turbos gets a little crowded with external wastegate. You can get by without removing anything, but it will be a tight fit.
