I've been thinking about getting my windows tinted in a few months and I noticed alot of A/C owners on this forum have their windows tinted so I hoped I could get some answers from those experienced in it, since I really know nothing about it, and couldnt find some solid answers on the internet.

1) First off, I know there are two types of Window Tints, the film and the paint i guess youd call it. Ive seen the films have bubbles in them, is this a result of not having a good shop install it, or just to be expected down the line. 2)Also, what have you paid to have your windows tinted3)I have the premium package, and I know the windows are tinted slightly, does that matter when having it done aftermarket?4)Any other stuff you think is important let me know

Thanks alot

Ryan

If there are bubbles, it's probably because not enough care was taken when the film was installed...or...they didn't use high quality film. My previous car was an '05 Altima Sedan with tinting and it looked as good at 60K miles and 3.5 years as it did brand new.I just paid $160 (special price from the guy who does this work for the dealer I bought my car from) to have the driver's, little quarter windows and the rear window tinted with 35% film.I have the premium package and there seemed to be no issue whatsoever in having the windows tinted. Most important things I can think of is to have a quality installer from a quality shop use quality materials to do the installation. I got to watch mine being done and could tell the guy had a lot of experience and really cared about the work being done...took him about 1.5 hours.

, i got mine done for 160 also. Check around with auto shops and see who they recommend. Usually a good brand name audio shops can give you good tips on what you should get and from who, hell most of them can do it themselves. Remember you get what you pay for.

Some people recommend to purchase the non-metalic film due to all of the electronics in our cars. Non-metalic costs a little more. Follow the manufactures cleaning instructions. Purchase quality work with the longest warranty available. Don't do it yourself, time is money and you will quadruple the 1.5 hrs mentioned above.
