Ok, on my b14 ser 200sx I have checked all wheel bearings, tie rods, new ball joints, new wheels, new tires, balanced etc. I still get a vibration around 70mph. I'm running out of ideas.

Huh, I do have one with a torn boot. They don't click or anything. Definately some food for thought. If I jack the front up and put it in drive will it be noticeable to the eye to find which one?

It's def. worth a look--it's probably a rotational balance issue..I had a a bad vibration that would occur at 70mph or more on a 4Runner I use to have; I replaced the driveshaft and it rode silky smooth afterwards. I suspect it was out of balance. Since your car is FWD, and the vibration occurs only at 70+(right?) I would suspect if you changed the CV axles that it could alleviate your problem. If they're cheap, try it out..might be a PITA though..have a look at it and see what you think

I've had the whole motor and trans out already, so axles shouldnt be an issue.

I haven't had a chance to jack it up and let it free spin but one cv boot is busted (which wasn't the last time I looked) so im gonna say that's probably it. Now the big decision is if I want to replace them or not because I've decided to get rid of this car in about 6 months.

Still have this car and after a new motor, clutch, axles and driver side wheel bearing I'm pretty sure I've completely cured this phantom vibration. Put the new motor in with new axles, still vibrated (not as much). New wheel bearing, still vibrated. New tires and vioala! Even though I've had the tires balanced many times it took care of it. Maybe it was a combination of tires, and the axles but tires seemed to put it to rest.
