Hi all, new to the world of minivans but not to Nissans: first car was a 78 Datsun 510, a car I dearly miss. Am a small car driver and have 4 in the family, all standard, all fun to drive. However 2 weeks ago my next door neighbour who owns 2 Quests upgraded to a 2011 Quest and was about to sell his 2000. Knowing the history of that vehicle and how well it was cared for, I just had to grab it, especially given the dirt cheap asking price. I'm the antichrist of minivans and never dreamed I'd actually own one (much less an automatic transmission one). And yet here I am.
The Quest will be used mostly to tow our tent trailer and a hitch should be here anyday now. It just made sense to get a bigger vehicle to tow our 8' tent trailer as our 4cyl VW car was running out of room, especially with 2 small kids that require so many toys on any camping trip. However the kids (3 and 5) demand we take the minivan anyplace we go as they love the room in it. Incredibly they don't seem to miss riding in the tiny 84 Rabbit. Guess even little kids complain about lack of leg room.
Being a car guy I have plenty to ask and learn from you all and feel like I made the right decision joining this forum. Here's a pic of the Quest. It's a 2000 in superb condition, interior is truly factory new after a major cleaning job that took me days to complete. Outside just "treated" for rust, which I did last night. You can see the white tape where the hole in the sliding door is. Quick fix till I get the chance to properly address the rust later on but sure beats looking a rusty hole
