what do you want? does 600 include a head unit? do you want to replace all the speakers? are you adding a sub? sound deadener?

600 is plenty. I did my entire sound system for around that.p4000dvd - 500 installed...with backup cam, bluetooth, and ipodkicker amp + diamond d1 sub - 200 installed4 channel kicker amp, eclipse 6x9s, mb quart 6.5s, dynamat extreme - 55$ installed

Did a lot of shopping around on craigslist and got some used equipment in good condition for great deals so just be patient with looking for good deals. Obviously thats more than your budget but you can get the same head unit I have for under 300 now new on ebay.

For $600 you can't get too many good stuff.

I'd suggest replacing your head unit to a single din and all your speakers.

If you can do it yourself, then $600 would give a nice upgrade from stock.
