Who knew Ford made a 4 cylinder Mustang? I'll bet it ran on regular too?

There were a few of those made back when the 5.0 was a popular car. I don't think Infiniti will ever sacrifice their reputation by putting a 4 banger in a G. The G is their flagship sports car, and to skimp on the engine would be a travisty.

Ford can get away with it, because their target market is the same market that 40oz bottles of malt liquor are sold to. That way Joe Jones can still have his Mustang, a 40 and keep the doublewide.

In japan the skyline has a 4 cylinder model.

V35 = 250GT - 2.5 L VQ25DD V6, 215 hp (158 kW, 270 N m)V36 = 250GT - 2.5 L VQ25HR V6, 220 hp (165 kW, 263 N m)

other info:

VQ25HRNissan updated the VQ line for 2007. The 2.5 L VQ25HR (for "High Revolution" or "High Response") is only available on rear wheel drive vehicles. It produces 225 PS (165 kW) @6800 rpm and 194 ft·lbf (263 Nm) @4800 rpm with a compression ratio of 10.6:1. It has CVTC, microfinished camshafts and redline of 7500 rpm. The intake is a high-flow tuned induction system.

A Nissan Skyline equipped with this engine was used by Nissan engineers to prove it was possible to achieve 1000 km (636.5 miles) on one tank of petrol for an overall fuel economy of 6.14 L/100km (38.3 miles per gallon).

I still see the HP numbers, and think that those aren't comparable with the market that Infiniti is trying to target.

Wait. I messed up. The 2.5 is actually a V6. I just assumed by the small displacement it was a 4.

Fond memories of cruizing around in my buddy's camaro and pounding some Schlitz Malt Liquor!!! Hanging out at Monty's drive in, push a little button, order a beer, and the waitress would bring it to your car.....I was 15 then too
