Hey guys,
My car has a bit of an issue. Its been sitting at a shop for a long long time, waiting for a few things to get done. Now its done, but the car has a major transmission issue

I may need to replace the TCM, and if so do I have to have it programmed by the dealer in order to work with the rest of my car? I'm familiar with the need to program ecu, bcms, and keys and such but I didnt know I would have to do this with a TCM

For some info into my problem maybe someone can offer feedback to help me out with my issues as well

I'm pulling P0600 and P1605 which are both trans communication issues

Thi sgives me the procedure of what to test for- I already checked the fuses and such and everything seems ok, wiring seems good so I'm left with the transmission computer itself (which I assume may have been damaged during repeated jumps while the car was at the shop)

Thanks for the help, I really really can't wait to be driving my Q again!

TCM do not require coding.

Everything including the battery on a BMW does. Be happy.

Thank you for the help! Just wanted to know what to expect when I slap a new computer in there- didn't want to be disappointed, I still may have a wiring issue but I hope not.
