i just bought a 99 sentra se and had a few questions. 1st i noticed that this car has rear drum brakes and not discs. I thought it was strange because i thought all se's came with rear discs. it has the sr20de motor, the dark stock wheels and white face gauges so i know its an se. or maybe i'm wrong. also i was checking out tokico coil-overs, anybody ever try these, they run about 500 bucks which is why i'm looking at them. so my questions are, are rear discs brakes an option on a se and not standard? and are the tockico coil-overs worth the dough? thanks in advanced.

From what I can tell, rear discs may be a feature of the ABS option, or may come only with the SE-L. I'm having trouble finding specifics as to what option(s) they come with.

To have an SR, it has to be an SE unless it's swapped, which is doubtful.

Tokico is a good brand, I think they'll be fine, but I've never seen/driven a car with them nor talked to an owner.

i was also wondering about this. just got a 200sx SE a little while ago and was suprised when it had drum brakes in the back, was thinking about swaping for disks. also the SE model came with the ga16 not the sr.

Incorrect. In the Sentra, the SE had the SR. In the 200SX it had to be an SE-R to have the SR.

In 98-99 Nissan began the SE and SE-L trim in the Sentra. They dropped the L designation for 2000 and 2001 B15 and offered the parts associated with the L as a package known as the "performance package," hence my car.
