Hey guys. I have a 99 QX4 4WD and it has a oil leak. The leak is coming from somewhere between the alternator and engine block. The bottom of the alternator is wet and the block right around where the oil pawn meets the block is wet but it looks like it is not the oil pan gasket. It looks like it is coming from somewhere above that. It is not the valve cover gasket. I have searched and searched and I do not see my oil cooler so I don't think it is the typical oil cooler leak. Is there something between the alternator and block that typically leaks? thanks!

Either head gasket leaking externally, or a front main seal most likely. Is there any oil on the other side of the engine (and underneath)? If so, its more likely the front main seal.

If you have oil on the bottom of your alternator and your valve cover isn't leaking, it is probably the cam seals leaking. You can change them out when you do your timing belt since it requires taking the belt off.
