I'd like to remove the claddings and flares so I can get them painted at a shop. Are these clip on, adhesive or both? I don't want to break them trying to remove them

I believe the fender flares are screwed on, but the gaskets between the body and the flares will disintegrate and you'd need to recreate them somehow. I have no idea about the claddings.

You should be able to use fender beading in place of the gaskets.
