Ok i purchase a 1999 qx4 with 174k i really dont know if she ever had any mayor work. But she looks unmalested maybe had the timing belt done at one point. So here is what happend my wife was driving it on a sunday and on tuesday 2 days later i drove it for about a mile and i notice that she started dropping the rpms like it was goin to shut of i also heard a wineding sound which i never heard before i really didnt let her warm up but once she was warmed thats when the hasitaing started i also got worse as it was on longer i drove it home and when i got on the gas from a stop it stutter like it didnt want to go and once goin it was fine but once of the gas itstarted hasitating again. So today after sitting for a few days i drove it cold for a mile and no symtoms temp gauge to 1/4 i parked it to go into cvs and when i went to drive it it did it again bucking and hasitating cut off 3 times on my way home. So im guessing is the MAF is bad or im i wrong. Has anyone have this problem sorry for long post. Please help

Welcome to NICO.

Is the check engine light illuminated? Make sure it turns on by turning the ignition to "ON"; the service engine soon light should illuminate.

You can try cleaning the MAF sensor; you can find instructions at the bottom of this article.

Change the fuel filter if it hasn't been changed within the past two years as well.

Im reading a whole lot of threads here that do from a bad distributor, bad ecm, and e en a bad turbine sensor or low transmission fluid. But i read that seemed common was a possibly bad IAC valve now could that be the cause to all my trouble. Or is there a list of what to check first before i pull stuff apart i mighf nof really have to.

So i finally figured out what was wrong with my qx4 it turns out that its very common problem that they have. I knew that there was a retired nissan tech in my area so i chased him down and in about 5 minutes he said u have a bad distributor as he blew compressed air into it. He put the cap back on and wahh laaa she was back on with no mis no hasitating he also said that i need it a new one soon. He said to take it apart and finish cleaning it. So i did and i found chunks of metal and grinded debree. Im ordering one now only kne thing were is the part # on the distributor thats on my qx4
