Hi all, Have had a run of problems lately and have narrowed the problem down we think to the ECU the shop had a 80k dollar computer hooked up and dude was still scratching this head never before has he seen the left bank run lean and right rich, then they swap and you get almost like a turbo kick both runs rich then left runs rich and right lean this guy says. So we narrow it down too ecm. Now comes the fun part dismantle and replace. Has anyone had to do this before? I have a couple of questions. 1) It looks like I have the most expensive module their is. Is there a good place to get a new one from? 2) I have located it under the dash, is their a easy way to pull it without tearing into the entire dash? Thanks all.

Looks like I'm going at it alone hope it helps some one someday.

So the ECU I have is AW mecm-w415 b1 very (NOT common) I'm finding out calling around nationwide. A couple here or their with not much of a warranty or were pulled from wrecked and unchecked Qx4's Oh by the way forget the dealer they want $1200 bucks :tisk:

I wish they were easy to come by I;m not gonna give up! Anyone have suggestions?

I can not believe no one has come across this problem before. So I found a guy in Jacksonville who can get hard to find parts, that's after 2 days of trying several local and national salvage networks. No prob it's on the way best warranty I've seen 90 days.. WOW that's pretty good! I also noticed he was the ONLY one who asked for my vin # to run through with the donor QX4 to make sure it was a exact match. Note to all; if they don't ask for a vin I probably wouldn't buy from them unless you were 100% sure. I found one on ebay but dude on other end of the email was a dummy so I passed on it and I'm glad I did, for the extra 60 days of warranty is a great comfort.

Now I will try to figure out hoe much dash I will need to remove to get it out..........

The ECM looks like it's fairly simple to remove; see page EC-106 of the factory service manual.

Good ol' P0300 has been the whole time which is driving me crazy  Because according to the FSM could be one of about 7 things. All was good I did a valve cover job and now nothing but P0300 and all that comes with that.
