try Infiniti of scottsdale, info is in my signature. Any mechanic should be able to replace the part, its very straight forward.

How did you determine it was the lower control arm?

Once again , call Joe and his crew at IoS

Have your VIN handy

Are you sure it is not the tension rod bushing? That can be purchased separately. Replaced both sides at once.

Look for Qship96 post for an Infiniti Senior Technician at Hill's Garage.

It might not really be the lower control arm because that part is not the first to fail. Check your Tension Rod bushings and the Stabilizer Rod. I had a similar problem with my 97 Q45 and I went on a wild goose chase looking for a lower control arm bushings because I did not want to pay dealer prices for the complete part when you only would need the bushings. It turned out that my Tension Rod bushings(#54776) and Stabilizer Rod(#54618) was the real problem.

The latter commonly known as the front anti-sway bar link.

What is your mileage?

I would say anything over 75k for sure your tension rods are done. Mine gave up the farm around that mileage.

You should also consider shocks/struts if your going after the suspension. there are not many choices out there, KYB SR Specials are a good aftermarket replacement but will take some time to get delivered. If you have the touring electric shocks you will have to invest in replacements from OEM.

If your over 75 TRUST ME the shocks/struts are gone along with the tension rods.

Aftermarket is a crapshoot, with many disappointments and few finds.

Report back after 10K miles if you use them.

Sorry, but I'm not digging that advice. I just replaced OEM sway bar links on my 97 Q45 with aftermarket sway bars that I bought on ebay(by way of Taiwan) and I like the aftermarket ones better. One of the things I like better is the lock nuts with nylon inserts that wont freeze up and rust onto the car. You will appreciate that when it is time to change the sway bar and you wont have to pay extra to cut the bolt off.
