Not long on the clock but much too long for the gumption that I'd budgeted for the job!!
I got home a bit early and thought, "Well let me throw this radio in real quick"- yeah right. Because it was different plug configuration I didn't want to put the radio in and THEN find out the junkyard unit was defective.
So.... its in my lap all plugged up and nothing. Then I after monkeying around I plugged the old one back in-in my lap-and..... nothing. It was funny because my wife came to ask how it was going and I said that the old radio didn't work now and she thought that this was horrible news but this confirmed the error was mine. I reread the FSM and the same sentence which I'd ignored earlier in the trouble shooting section suddenly made sense- "Radio case ground is defective."
