I'd like to replace a coil or two on my car but haven't found a good diagram to help find them. Is it tough? I've got a "stumble" at idle and i k now ther is plenty is "opinion" on what the problem might be. Just need a picture of the location. Thanks!

Each coil is on top of each plug.

How did you diagnose the bad one?

All very clear with the FSM.

Thanks Maxnix! I haven't yet diagnosed which coil, but all I have to do is take it to the dealership, they'll test it for me, I'll be shocked at how expensive it is and tell them I need to wait... but they'll tell me the resistance readings on each coil and I can either do one or the other 6 (I had two done last year). BTW, After reading the threads trying to solve this issue, I bought two bottles of the Nissan brand fuel system cleaner ($20/bottle!!), put one in and haven't noticed a problem the last few days. I have no doubt that this syptom could be caused by countless issues or that I may, in deed, need seom new coils, but so far, this Nissan brand cleaner seems to have helped! I'm keeping my fingers crossed! Have a great holiday!!

I think you will find the dealer approach is to replace them all rather than bill the owner for the time required to test each one.

BG44K is King Kong when it comes to fuel system cleaners.

Yes, I've heard that BG44K is realy good. I fond some at a dealer near my house for $40/can. I went with the Nissan brand becuse I was worried the BG44K might do something to my car... and I assumed the Nissan stuff was great for my car. I'm still happy with teh Nissan product if you think there's no (or little) risk of using the BG44K I'm all for trying it out.

BTW, thanks so much for responding to my thread. I really appreciate having a sounding board on this issue... and you seem to be well respected on this forum! Thanks!

Don't know about respect, but $40/can is twice retail.

See if you can do better.

I always got it from "slowboyracing" on ebay. About 17,18 bucks shipped if I remember right. You can call them as well. Right now this is the only one selling it on ebayhttp://motors.search.ebay.com/...d=m37

I'll be getting some before my next oil change.

Yeah... I bought several cans on eBay for something like $10 each shipped. If you keep an eye on several auctions you can get good deals on it if you watch auctions for multiple cans for a while.

Thanks everyone... eBay it is! I'll check it out. I'm assuming no one has had any trouble using BG44K in their Infiniti's? I was just a little nervous about using something that is not "Nissan"... the Nissan product is still working great for me, but I'm going to try the BG stuff!

Ddrumman, your car is awesome. I had a '91 Q and always wanted a '94! I like my '99 but miss a bit of the power from the 4.5L engine.

I was/am always wary about using anything that's not OEM. However, there are some products out there that are of good quality, and once they get this board's stamp of approval we are good to go. BG44K is one of those products.

Thanks for the compliment, I was on the verge of selling but I've changed my mind and I'm keeping her. I better, I just spent over $2,800 on her and I'm not done yet.
