the "stealership" in Dallas wants $1000 for a new TCU/TCM for my '99....this is ridiculous--would some of my Q45 friends have a good used one for sale? They said it was shorted out/grounded out and ruined during a sever rain storm-must be true as my cruise went out and the ABS/SLIP/TCS lights came on at the same time..and stay on....Thanks!

It is odd that a flooded ECU (how?) would lose only those functions.

Better cure the leak first then worry about the electronics. Bet there is a TCS relay like the G50. What does the FSM say?

ABS/slip/TCU is calssic indication of failing alternator. Better check that first.

How many posts have you started about this problem? I still don't know what you've replaced/fixed/repaired.

If the TCU/TCM was shorted it seems that many other functions would be lost but....

Anyways, I'll sell you one for 97 for cheap with lots of disclaimers.

Traction Control Unit [computer module] controls TCS/ABS don't confuse with TCU Transmission Control Unit.

Q45Tech........the tech said it was the module that controled the TCS/SLIP/ABS and I didn't hear exactly what he called it--so it must be the Traction Control Module.......will BulletAndy's '97 one fit my '99? after checking ,fuses, relays that were OK, the dealership in Dallas told me that some of my wires under the hood had "shorted" out the TCM and that's why the lights are on in the dash and why my cruise won't work. I am READY to fix this problem----the trans shifts fine and I have no other problems with the car-except the occasional "stumbling" at idle.....isn't the TCM located on the passenger side kick panel area? near the ECM? Thanks,Doug in Texas

I refuse to work on [ignore as much as humanly possible] Q41/Cima F50 so read your FSM for location.Perhaps someone else.

If it is the wires, I would replace that portion of the harness.

You need a second opinion from a qualified senior Infiniti technician.
