99 PF Power Seats install in a 98 PF...wiring help?

I got 99 leather power seats from a 99 LE and want to install them in my 98SE. There are not plugs prewired and need to adapt the seats to existing wiring. Can someone help please?thanks

ive never heard of someone doing this but its very much so worth it!!

all i can say is maybe consult the FSM's for the 98 and 99 and compare wiring, maybe you will have to modify your 98 seat and possibly add some wiring for the seat heaters

Yes I think it will be worth it. I did manage to get sections of the wiring harnesses left and right from the 99 floor area (not all the way back to the engine compartment).

I thought that might give me color codes to attempt to tap wires on my 98. I think that if I check the voltages present in my 98 it should give me some place to tap power from.

So far I have found that not only are there no plugs prewired below my existing non power 98 seats, but the wiring harness in that area is totally different from the 99 harness....colors different and wires different...not sure where to go from here?

Today I got the Left and Right wiring harness's from a Cash for Clunkers 99 like the one my seats came out of.

I got both harness's for $30 total....should be able to separate the wires that feed the seats all the way to the fuse panel and then make any mods needed to get them wired into the panel.

The passenger side went to a plug just to the right of the glove box so will have to try and attach it there. Hopefully can patch in into something there or either run a new wired across the underside of the dash to link up with the left side....

Also got a Bose amp from the rear driver's side...with harness all the way back....$30 for the amp.
