Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Trying to help out a friend who went to the local auto parts store because his MIL was on. They told him the code was for a bad knock sensor, no other codes. He called me out to help after he had already removed the upper intake and was scared to go any further. I pulled everything apart and replaced the knock sensor. At the same time I pulled and replaced the spark plugs and wires. Put everything back together and now the pickup won't start. He says the truck was running good that only the MIL was illuminated without any further problems.

I am getting fire to the #1 plug and I am getting fuel, the truck turns over fine but will not start. I even tried a shot of starting fluid. Timing? Firing order? I was going by a Haynes manual, does anyone know the correct firing order for this truck, or anywhere else I can look to help diagnose this problem? After doing some research I am finding that replacing the knock sensor may not have been necessary since it may have been set off by some other problem.

Help, this is driving me crazy and he is now expecting me to get it started since he says it was running before the repair (so much for trying to help out )

Any ideas where I can start to get this vehicle running and free my mind???

Thanks,Chipmunk

welcome to NICO!

First off, a knock sensor will NOT throw a check engine light!! It wont!

are your injectors clicking.. Im goingto rule out any fuel pressure issues before the fuel pump because it was running properly.....

Did you even mess wtih the fuel rail? unplug any injector harnesses?

I moved 3 of the injectors out of the rail, but the other 3 wouldn't budge, so eventually I just tied the fuel rail up out of the way. None were unplugged.

Thanks,Chipmunk
