99 maxima transmission

hey guys i had my maxima for about 2 months....i took the diagnostic with the obd-2....it came out p0744 torque clutch circuit intermittent...i took the car to a mechanic and what he told me is that the car skips gears from 1-3 and it does not go into 2nd or 4th....he told me that the part of the transmission that is pushed does not get the push to change the gear...thank you
