Ok, my girlfriends '99 Maxima is having some issues. It threw a check engine light so she went and got it read (with out me there..err). Anyway, she say's that the guys who read the code said that the #6 coil was bad. Ok, thing is it is intermittent so it doesn't seem like it would be the coil to me cause usually when something like that goes bad it doesn't magically fix itself. Her brother-in-law supposedly replaced the #6 spark plug but I'm thinking that the way the car acts that it could be the plug wire.

Any thoughts?

coil overs [coil over every spark plug] so there are no plug wires. We replace those coils all the time for intermitten misfire. your actually lucky they isolated it to one coil. In some cases it will throw a P1320 code[ignition signal primary] and the recommended corse of repair when thats the only code is all 6 coils. Your girls car must of thrown a P0306[cyl 6 misfire] code in conjunction with the other code that pretty much tells them which cyl it is that caused the P1320 code. Replace the coil and all should be good.
