99 maxima issues?

ok so a friend of mine has a 99 maxima v6 5spd and is having some issues were trying to figure out.... the car was purchased awhile ago and the motor went.... it was still under warranty with the used car dealer he bought it from so he took the car back to them and they put a new motor in it. the car ran fine for about a month or so and then started acting up bad. and now we cant figure out what exactly is wrong with the car. the symptoms are once the cars warmed up it starts to cut out kind of like if you were to stall the car and then picks right back up and goes for a little bit and does it again. the warmer the car get the closer together the cut outs get. when the car cuts out all the lights and everything go out as if the car were turned off the car jerks and it restarts and continues on its way but gets worse as you go. the alternator was recently replaced as somone told him that might of been the issue. im not sure on what would be causing this so i figured id see if anyone else might be able to point me in the right direction.

Check the harness/connectors to the alternator. It's possible that a 'hot' wire is 'crossing' a ground wire causing intermittent short. It's possible the insulation ofthe 'hot' wire is cracked and gets worse as temp goes up.

ill have to look at the wires and trace them all the way back... we just put a new alternator in the car a couple weeks ago and it drove fine for about 25 minutes then the problem came back. so it could be in the wires as we never checked them very thoroughly. thanks for the advice ill let you know how it goes
