Depends on what you classify as "compatible". It also depends on the year of your 200SX as for what all is the same.

In general, the engine is the same. However, the transmission is slightly different (different gear ratios), but if you're just swapping the engine it should be fairly straight forward. The one major difference is that the 99 G20 has roller rocker arms and the 200SX does not. However, that shouldn't affect doing an engine swap.

Yeah just straight swapping engines. Mainly im worried about where the engine/trans will be bolted up, electrical plugs etc. I couldnt imagine them designing a different fwd sr block as far as the mounts go. I thought it was the 2000 that had roller rockers?

Sorry, you're right, it is 00+ that got the roller rockers. The 99 should be nearly identical to yours then.

Just a little update. engine install went fine. I chose to use the ser intake manifold bedside the g20 had these evap line things I didn't need and looked ugly. Other than that I drilled the block for my turbo drain and resealed the motor with all new hoses and gaskets. Engine mount brackets had to be switched over which was no biggy.
