I have a 1999 Nissan Altima SE. The wire and connector that connects to the Coolant Temperature Sending Unit somehow got corroded and the end of the wire broke off and the connector broke apart. I tried contacting auto parts retail chains and they don't sell replacements. I can't seem to find anywhere that sells replacements for just the connector or the whole wire plus connector. Does anyone know where I could either purchase them or what gauge wire and an alternative suitable connector could be soldered on to the remaining original wire that connected to it?

The cheaper and easier but permanent fix the better. I am physically disabled and living on Disability plus recovering from hand surgery so money and ability are very limited.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Is it the ECU sending unit (2-wire) or the gauge sending unit (1-wire)?

If you mean the ECU sensor connector, it's a pretty common Nissan connector with pigtails available on eBay. Here's an example:

If you mean the gauge sender, it's just a common quick-disconnect spade you can get at the parts store.

Fairly certain it was for the gauge. It only had 1 wire and previously I noticed the temperature gauge on the dash never moved off of cold.

Then the sensor will be a 25080-89907, they're all over eBay and Amazon for as little as $7. You can crimp on a standard insulated female spade for the connector.

Ah okay. I wasn't sure if there was anything special about the factory connector. I appreciate the help.
